News item Newsflash: Carlisle train station used for Homebase ad

Wednesday, March 10, 2010
Homebase advertising campaign Transform the Nation has filmed its latest spot at Carlisle train station in the UK.

The piece shows a team setting up various home interior and garden designs on the station’s platform early in the morning to the bemusement of commuters.

Luke Tilbury, Production Co-Ordinator with Independent, said: “We considered using Crewe and Stoke stations but settled on Carlisle due to its scale and the fact it has a covered roof.”

Although the spot suggests everything was set up in just a few hours, it actually took three weeks and there were seven days of filming, following negotiations with Virgin and National Rail.
